Device to PC Communicator.

The communicator  is the program you will use to communicate with your Bioelectronix Time Clock to the Timekeeper 2000 software on your computer, and has all the options to download and upload data from your Bioelectronix Time Clock. Some of these options are set up date and time, set auto collection of punches (IN/OUT), download and upload fingerprints, staff information and more. The communicator will have different features depending on the time clock model.

 

NOTE:   The main purpose of the communicator is the downloading of the punches. DO

               NOT DOWNLOAD ANY INFORMATION (RECORDS, FINGERPRINTS,

               STAFFERS) if you have not entered the employee information into the

               Timekeeper 2000 program first.

 

ADD a Connection

 

This option is used to add a connection between your time clock and your computer, you can add as many connections you want based on the amount of time clocks you have.

 

To add a time clock connections in your Timekeeper 2000 communicator do the following :

 

Click Add and the following window will open :

 

Enter the following information:

 

  • Mach No: Enter your time clock serial number.

  • Mach Name: Re-enter your time clock serial number

  • Comm: Select from the drop down menu either COM, LAN,  or RS485.

Com : For serial Com port or serial to USB Com port connection.

Lan : For Network TCP/IP connection.

RS485 : For RS485 Com port connection.

 

  • Com Port : If you selected COM Enter your  Com Port number assigned or if you selected LAN enter your IP address assigned to your time clock.

DELETE 

This option is used to delete any time clock connection created on your communicator.

 

To delete the time clock connections in your Timekeeper 2000 communicator do the following:

 

Highlight from your list of connections the one to be deleted.

 

Then click delete and a confirmation for deletion will open and click OK.

 

MODIFY.

 

This option is used to modify any settings of the connections created on your communicator.

 

To modify the time clock connection settings in your Timekeeper 2000 communicator do the following:

 

Highlight from your list of connections the one to be modified.

 

 
Then the information for the selected connection will display as follows. Then change the fields to be modified and click OK to save your connection new settings.

 

 

CONNECT.

 

This option is used to manually connect to your time clock using the connection already created on your communicator. Connecting to the time clock is required to download any data from the time clock.

 

To connect do the following:

 

  • Highlight your connection and click connect.

 

 

  • Now you will be prompted to enter your time clock password. Unless the password has been changed, factory default passwords are “09999” for the X100 model, “9999” for X180 model, “8888” for the X200 model, “09999 for the X500 model.

 

 

 

 

DISCONNECT.

 

This option is used to stop the connection established between the time clock and your Timekeeper 2000 program.

 

SETTING.

 

Based on the Bioelectronix time clock model you will have between 2 or 3 options on the settings window.

Run automatically when windows start. Check mark this option if you want the communicator to run when windows start.Real time Communication Parameter Settings.

For the X100 you only have the option to listen to the COMPORT assigned.

For the X180 and X200 you have the option to listen to COMPORT and TCP/IP, the X200 listens to TCP/IP by default.

 

 

RECORD.

 

This option will let you view the last punches downloaded to the program in a range up to the last 120 minutes.

 

EXIT.

 

This option will allow you to exit the communicator.

NOTE: close your communicator after you finished using it, if not the timekeeper 2000 software’s database will not refresh.

 

DATA ON THE TIME AND ATTENDANCE MACHINE.

 

When you successfully connect to the Bioelectronix time clock, this section will display data on its memory such as how many employees, employee’s fingerprints, records ETC.

 

DOWNLOADING AND UPLOADING TOOLS.

 

This tool will be available to use only when connected to the time clock. NOTE: Do not download or upload any records if you have not added the employee name and personal information with the id’s assigned for all users into the Timekeeper 2000 software.

 

 

 

 

DOWNLOAD RECORDS.

 

This option will download all the employee IN/OUT records from the time clock into the Timekeeper 2000 software database.

 

DOWNLOAD STAFFERS.

 

This option will download the ID’s assigned to each employee on the time clock into the Timekeeper 2000 software database. Note: Names are not entered on the time clock; names are entered on the Timekeeper 2000 program and then uploaded to the time clock. (Only the X200 and X500 Models display the employee names on the screen)

 

DOWNLOAD FINGERPRINTS.

 

This option will download the fingerprint image template saved on the time clock for all the employees into the Timekeeper 2000 database. Just open the window and highlight the employees fingerprint to be saved into the database and click OK, you can also check mark all fingerprint at once to select all employees.

 

 

UPLOAD STAFFERS.

 

Once you have added the employees name with ID’s assigned into the Timekeeper 2000’s database you can upload these names into the time clock so the name replaces the ID displayed on the time clock for each employee. (Only on the X200 and X500 models have this option of displaying the employee name on the screen).

 

UPLOAD FINGERPRINTS.

 

If you have saved the employees fingerprint to the Timekeeper 2000’s database, then you can upload these fingerprints back to the time clock. In cases where a time clock was reset, or you have a new time clock, or if you want to have a second time clock with the same fingerprints and ID numbers so the employees can clock in/out on either time clock.

 

STAFFERS PERMISSION.

 

This feature will be available only for the communicators on the X180, X200 and X500, because these models can also work as access controllers to open doors. Through this feature you give permission to the employees to open the doors at the moment they scan their fingerprint on your bioelectronix time clock.

 

AUTO COLLECT  SET.

 

This feature on the communicator will allow you to set collecting times during the day. Once set the communicator will collect the punches from the time clock automatically.

 

To set the auto collecting times follow these steps:

 

1. Select your time clock number from the list.

2. Enter the password for the time clock.

3. Select the times during the day you wish to collect the time, click add time for each time you wish to add more collecting times.

4. Select ADD to add your selection of times.

 

SETTING PARAMETERS.

 

This option will have all the settings related to the time clock such as time synchronization, deletion of employees, users and time clock initialization, & password.

 

Click on the tabs in the setting parameters to do the following operations:

 

  • Initialize System – This option will clear all information on the time clock such as records,

fingerprints, staff information ETC, and will set it back to factory settings.

 

  • Clear Records – This option will delete all the punches saved on the time clock.

 

  • Delete Staffers – This option will delete all employee and fingerprint information

saved on the time clock.

 

  • Time Synchronization -  This option will sync the date and time from the computer to your

Bioelectronix time clock, & both the computer and time clock  will have the same date and time.

 

*     TCP/IP Settings Via Com Port - Here you will be able to enter IP settings from your local network if you want to connect your time clock via network. NOTE: Only X180, X200 and X500 models have TCP/IP network connection options.
